Ybeth Bruzual, Anchor
This Venezuelan-Puerto Rican journalist has lived in Central Florida since 1982 and considers this area home. Ybeth Bruzual enjoys anchoring on News 13 and also on News 13 en Español.
She is fascinated by politics. So much so, that she’s earned a Bachelor’s Degree in International Politics from the University of Central Florida. She puts that knowledge to good use in her job at News 13.
Ybeth bleeds back and gold, and is a proud member of the UCF Alumni Association. You often see her cheering on the stands, rooting for her Knights at basketball games and at football games at Bright House Networks stadium.
She calls herself an “endless prisoner of hope,” and demonstrates that by her many community activities. She is a past board member for both Shepherd’s Hope Clinic and Central Florida Chapter Board for Lighthouse of Central Florida, offering service to the blind, and a former mentor for the Compact Program for Orange County Public Schools.
Ybeth is past president for the Central Florida chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ), and is a proud lifetime member of that organization. She has won numerous Paoli Awards for Anchor and Reporter of the Year, and has been recognized as a leader for her community service as a YMCA Developing Hispanic Achievers Program recipient.
Ybeth and her tall husband, Alfredo (he’s 6’7”), have a young son who loves the Orlando Science Center, story time at the downtown library and strolling through the farmer’s market.
