ORLANDO -- AT&T has donated $30,000 to the University of Central Florida for the fifth year in a row.
The money will be used to fund continued graduate work in advanced communications and live simulation technology fields.
AT&T supports the university, because their research has helped with training in the Army.
The company sees its partnership with UCF as a way to provide opportunities for many students.
"It means an increase in jobs," said Jim Skurka, spokesman for AT&T Orlando Operations. "If you look at this community over the last five years, the jobs have increased dramatically. Several companies in the area have grown significantly. The economic impact is well over $3 billion."
UCF said it is happy to be able to provide such training to the Army through research done in their facilities.
