ORLANDO -- Some parents are upset over the billboard ads for Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights event.
The billboards are going up all around town.
This year's theme has Bloody Mary on the front of the billboard, framed in gruesome detail.
One mother, Erin Heston, wrote a letter to the theme park, asking Universal to tone down the signs or move them to a less public place.
"I guess I just think that they are pretty violent, pretty intense," Heston said.
Heston said that while she enjoys Universal and appreciates what they do for the community, she feels the billboards glorify death and violence. She said that she tries to distract her two young children from the billboards, she doesn't always succeed.
"It's pretty difficult to distract them sometimes, and when I don't, he can get upset," Heston said about her son.
Most of the several dozen billboards are going up in the Orlando area along the toll roads and Interstate 4.
A Universal representative said that while they respect everyone's opinion, they are just trying to make things fun, new and exciting.
