ORLANDO -- On Friday, the University of Central Florida will throw the switch on a beautiful new holiday festival.

Light Up UCF features the area's only public ice rink, a holiday light show, a holiday film festival, concerts and even ways you can help others during the holiday season.

Among the films that will be shown are "How The Grinch Stole Christmas," "It's a Wonderful Life," "Home Alone" and even "The Polar Express."

The films are free and so are the light show and parking. To skate, it will cost just $10.

Toys For Tots is just one of the charities that will be getting help during the event that takes place Nov. 14 through Jan. 2.

The concerts include Sarah Brightman, Carrie Underwood, Crystal Gale with B.J. Thomas, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and the All-Star Comedy Tour.

You can even bring the kids to visit Santa from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Dec. 23.

Everything is open to the public. Light Up UCF is located directly outside of the UCF Arena. The free parking is available in Event Garage F.
