Adam Kohler

Adam Kohler, Video Journalist

Ever since he sat down in front of the TV watching “The Big Show”, Adam Kohler knew what he wanted to be when he grew up. From watching Dan Patrick and Keith Olberman on the couch to developing his own style of broadcasting, Adam’s career has taken him all over the map.

A Charlotte native by way of Chicago, Adam attended the University of Georgia, walking-on as a wide receiver for the football team. It was there he got his first hands-on experience with the media, from the other side. Once he realized his NFL dreams were over, Adam reported on the Bulldogs for the local TV and radio station.

Upon graduating, Adam took a job for WLTW-TV in Northwest Ohio. In his time there, Adam anchored and reported for a live, 30-minute sports show, covering everything from varsity bowling to Ohio State’s national championship runs in basketball and football.

From Ohio to Asheville, the next stop landed him at WLOS-TV. The move put him closer to home, and allowed him to cover the best of tobacco road. During his time there, he covered UNC and Duke’s National Championship teams in addition to reporting on Clemson, Western Carolina and Appalachian State. Adam’s work in Asheville earned him an Emmy nomination.

Now in Tampa Bay with Bright House Sports Network, Adam couldn’t be happier to live in an area where he can tee it up year-round. When he’s not working on sports, he likes to spend his time traveling, working out and watching his favorite teams.

Adam is ecstatic to be working in a busy sports town with such a passionate fan base. You can follow him on twitter @adamkohler or drop him a line at adam.kohler@bhsn.com.
