ORLANDO -- Children hospitalized at Florida Hospital got to have some fun after a visit by video game developers.
Kids played the latest games on the Nintendo Wii as part of the hospital's kick off event. This was all in efforts to put a smile on the kids’ faces as they are treated in the hospital.
Game developers even helped the kids imagine themselves as a video game character.
“They are going to draw like a self portrait of me so that's cool,” said Payton Harper, a patient.
“Games on the WII are actually designed to be a lot of fun for a wide range of ages,” said Paul Kashuk from Electronic Arts. “They also have that competitive edge to them and so it seemed like it was an appropriate way to interact with the kids and have a lot of fun with them.”
At the end of the event, Electronic Arts donated several WII units to the hospital so children can play throughout their stay.
