The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has identified a man they say was murdered and are looking for a vehicle and person of interest in the case.
Detectives are investigating the death of 52-year-old Bruce Bridges, the county’s first homicide of 2012.
Officials shut down the intersection of Vanguard Street and Mandarin Drive in the Tangelo Park area during the investigation.
Authorities said around 7 a.m. Friday Bridges went to a home on Vanguard Street looking for help.
The person who answered the door said the man was bleeding profusely from multiple wounds.
But by the time paramedics arrived, he was dead.
"He was able to get to the door somehow,” said Jeff Williamson, a spokesman with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. “Walk, crawl, or however he was able to get there. He was able to knock on the door and get the residents to call 911."
Deputies still won't say whether the man was shot or stabbed.
Authorities are currently at two different crime scenes – the one where the victim was found and another further down the road.
We believe it’s where the confrontation happened.
Neighbors think the murder was the result of some kind of domestic dispute. However, authorities won't say for sure.
But they aren’t saying neighbors should be on alert.
Deputies said they are looking for a woman around 20 to 30 years old seen driving a purple 2001 PT Cruiser.
Officials said that car was reported stolen by the owner and was spotted near the crime scene.
