GOP presidential candidate and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich visited the City Beautiful Friday.

"I think we're going to win in South Carolina next Saturday, and then with your help we're going to win Florida," Gingrich told applauding supporters.

Fresh off the road from South Florida, Newt Gingrich was aiming to drum up support in the all-important I-4 corridor.

Friday, he opened up his campaign headquarters in Orlando to an eager crowd.

"He's a conservative candidate, all those other ones are going to drop out by the time they get to Florida," said supporter Dave Deering.

Gingrich was confident that he will be the Republican nominee, in which he would challenge President Obama to seven three-hour debates.

"If the President has not accepted the seven debates, I will announce as of that evening that the White House will be my scheduler and wherever he goes, I will show up four hours later,” said Gingrich.

Gingrich also made some bold promises to his supporters.

He said if he made it to the oval office within hours of making his inaugural address he would sign between 100 and 200 executive orders and he'd ask Congress to get to work on Jan. 3 of 2012 to repeal President Obama's health care law.

But before he makes it to the White House, he's got to fend off his number one competitor, Mitt Romney, who is leading the polls now in Florida.

There is an attack ad playing in the Sunshine State, which was funded by a super PAC supporting Mitt Romney

The ad accuses Gingrich of having a lot of personal and political "baggage."

“It's wrong on four counts in 30 seconds,” Gingrich said. “This is the ad I challenged him to take down because its false. And I think it’s a shame Mitt Romney doesn't have the courage to stand up for honest ads.”

Gingrich said he's asking his supporters to change or remove a recent attack ad put together about Romney.

Gingrich said he's the better leader for American's biggest concern: jobs.

Political heavyweights, former Orange County Mayor Rich Crotty and Former Attorney General Bill McCollum are co-chairing his efforts to put the state of Florida in the win column for the former speaker of the house.

Gingrich is currently headed back to South Carolina, ahead of next Saturday’s primary.

We were the only TV station he spoke with during his brief visit.

In our exclusive interview with Gingrich, he focused his attacks squarely on Romney.

He also discussed the economy, military and local defense projects that could mean jobs for Orlando.
