George had stopped at the Hawaii Motel, on Ridgewood Avenue, and rented a room.

Orange County investigators alerted Daytona Beach police about disturbing text messages George Anthony had sent to family members.

Daytona Beach police were able to track pings from George's phone to find him in the motel room.

Police chief Mike Chitwood confronted George, and was credited with talking him out of taking his own life.

Chitwood would not discuss the entire details of his conversation with George Anthony, except for his comments that few understood what he was going through.

Chief Chitwood said he he may reveal more details regarding his conversation with Casey Anthony's father after her murder trial is over.

George Anthony was taken into custody under the Baker Act and hospitalized.

The owner of the Hawaii Motel said George had left behind some belongings, including a blanket.

For days following the incident, guests called the motel requesting to stay in Room 106, the room where George Anthony nearly took his own life.
