A body found Sept. 3 has been identified as Goldie Mae Robinson, a missing woman.
As police search for clues, the 78-year-old’s family needs answers too.
“How can you just throw someone out like garbage?” asked Fred Roberts, Robinson’s son.
Robinson’s body was discovered in a shallow grave behind the house across the street from hers, near the same area where Arthur Sheldon's body was found Aug. 26.
She had been reported missing by her son in mid-August.
“It wasn't supposed to happen like this,” Roberts said.
He woke up Tuesday morning with one wish.
“I couldn't wait for the time to wrap my arms around her and tell her how much I love her,” Roberts said.
Neighbor Art Cousineau has lived in the mobile home community about a year and a half.
He and the other neighbors are in disbelief.
“Not only in my neighborhood, but next door, across the street. I'm flabbergasted and saddened,” Cousineau said.
The only person of interest to be named in the case is Kimberly Smith, who was Robinson’s caretaker.
Roberts said when he showed up in town looking for his mother, everything of value had disappeared from her house.
“I really want to know the rest of the story about her last couple of days,” Roberts said.
He told News 13 he doesn't know what he'd say to Smith, who remains in the Orange County Jail on unrelated charges.
Even though he may have a certain closure with Tuesday’s news, he's still quite uncertain about what comes next.
“My nightmare continues,” Roberts said. “For my mom to be thrown out like a piece of garbage is just, it’s just unheard of.”
Tuesday's autopsy did not reveal the cause of Robinson's death.
Investigators said Smith has not been cooperative with their investigation.
