A jackknifed Walmart tractor-trailer shut down the westbound lanes of Interstate 4 for several hours.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. Monday near the Fairbanks Avenue exit.
The lanes were closed for nearly 2.5 hours while crews cleaned up.
A hazmat team was called to the scene to clean up 100 gallons of diesel fuel that was spilled.
A News 13 producer reported traffic was backed up to Altamonte Springs and that drivers were out of their cars, sitting in lawn chairs and throwing footballs by the side of the road.
The Florida Highway Patrol charged William Smith, the tractor-trailer's driver, with careless driving. The 60-year-old is from Webster in Sumter County.
