Florida Decides
Candidates vying for votes in November are using Labor Day to talk about how they plan on bringing jobs back to Florida.
In Orlando, Rep. Alan Grayson and Senate candidate Kendrick Meek are among several Democratic candidates expected to take part in the annual March for Good Jobs Labor Day Rally.
The rally, organized by the AFL-CIO, is set for 11 a.m. Monday at Lake Eola Park.
Gov. Charlie Crist, who is running unaffiliated for Senate, is also expected to be at the rally.
Meanwhile, Democrat Alex Sink, who is running for governor, will join attorney general candidate Dan Gelber for a Labor Day picnic with union members and their families in South Daytona.
The picnic is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Reed Canal Park.
Republican gubernatorial Rick Scott had previously planned to attend a Labor Day event in Altamonte Springs, but that event has been cancelled.
Scott’s campaign staff posted a message on his website, saying: “Rick will be back in the Orlando area again very soon.”
GOP Senate candidate Marco Rubio, whose father died Friday, did not have any events listed for Monday on his event calendar on Facebook.
