Would you support a law making signs and speed bumps at bus stops mandatory?
A Volusia County father is on a crusade to make bus stops in Florida safer following the death of his 12-year-old daughter.
Gabby Mair died in June after she was hit by a car getting off her bus along Highbanks Road in DeBary.
She was the second child killed along the road this year.
Her father is pushing for a new law to have signs, speed bumps, and other speed control devices installed at stops, and to stiffen the penalties for those caught speeding by buses.
Donald Mair spent part of this weekend collecting signatures for a petition.
City leaders in DeBary are also discussing improving safety along the road where Mair was killed.
