More than 24 hours after a woman finds a foot floating in the Econ River, investigators still have more question than answers.

Neighbors said the investigators were out about 6 or 7 months ago when a man was reported missing. The man lived back in the woods with a homeless community.

One of the woman who lives there, who goes by Hilda, talked exclusively with News 13. She was out in the water Saturday taking a bath when she said she found a foot. Now she thinks it belonged to her friend.

"It's hard because he's been missing for a while now, yeah, like 6 months I'm sorry that I found his foot out there it hurts me a lot," Hilda said.

Investigators aren't saying much until they can try and ID who the remains belonged to. But investigators are going up against some tough conditions.

Neighbors said several alligators are often seen in the area.

News 13 talked with the missing man's brother who said it has been difficult for the homeless community and they hope they can finally know what happened to their friend.
