Some Seminole County football players are now playing on new turf.
The Oviedo High Lions played their first game on the $500,000 field Friday night.
Fans came early to make sure they could get a good seat.
Some parents told News 13 how hard their children have worked in fundraisers and asking for donations to help make it happen.
"It’s beautiful,” said Dawn Pellizzari. “We’re so glad to be here. We got to actually test the field and got to feel the foundation, and it felt really good. It was really different. The boys deserve it."
"They must think they're pros,” said Mark Pellizzari. “Let's hope they play like pros. Go Oviedo.”
Oviedo won the first game on their new field, beating No. 12 Seminole High 14-7.
