Police have found a second body near the home of a missing Volusia County woman.
Although the body was located Friday afternoon, because of the Labor Day holiday and the condition of the body, authorities said they won't know who this is until Tuesday.
Once again, police vehicles crowd the scene and a blue tarp hangs like a shadow.
For a second time, the family of Goldie Robinson, 78, waits to see if their mother has been found.
"I've been here before and it’s miserable,” said Fred Roberts, Robinson’s son. “It’s a nightmare."
Roberts came to his mother’s home after police dogs found something suspicious nearby.
According to investigators, cadaver searching dogs hit on an area in the backyard of a nearby home. Police sifted through the dirt and found another body buried in the ground.
"At this point, we do not if it’s male or female,” said South Daytona Police Chief Bill Hall. “We do not know race."
For the second time, suspicion is centered squarely on Kimberly Smith as both bodies have been found in her backyard.
Arthur Sheldon's body was found Aug. 26. Neighbors said Smith took money from and had power of attorney over him.
Until this second body’s identity is revealed, Roberts said he will be holding on to hope.
"The only thing that I can hold on to now is that big dream and that's that someone out there is taking care of mom and she is safe and sound," Roberts said.
Police said Robinson and Smith have a connection because Smith is the person who told police that Robinson had left the state with her new husband.
At this time, Smith is only a person of interest in the case. She is currently in the Orange County Jail after being arrested on unrelated charges.
