Two dogs put their best paws forward to thank the men and women who saved their lives.
Riley and Caoilin were with their owner when they got lost in the woods back in July.
Vincent Moavero called 911 when he realized he was over heated and both the dogs were in bad condition.
Rescue teams got to the woods and checked out the man and then started IV's on the dogs.
The owner said he knows if they hadn't found them in the woods, they wouldn't have made it out alive.
"I would not be here,” Moavero said. “Unquestionably, it was a bad situation and you love your dogs. You don't want to do anything bad for them and I couldn't have left them in the woods like that."
The firefighters did not have training on how to start an IV on a dog, but put their heads together and were able to save their lives.
