Flea World in Sanford has lost one of its main attractions.

Dondi the elephant has died.

The female Asian elephant died Wednesday of unknown causes at a zoo in Massachusetts where she performs during the summer.

In the winter, Dondi would give rides to customers at Flea World in Sanford.

Veterinarians are currently determining the cause of Dondi's death.
