In the tropics, News 13’s Weather Experts are tracking two waves in the Eastern Atlantic and one in the Caribbean that have some potential for development.
The two waves in the Eastern Atlantic so far have shown little organization, but if environmental conditions improve, there is the possibility of slow tropical formation over the next three to four days.
The waves are close enough to each other that there is also the chance of the waves merging into one system. The forecast currently indicates a 20 percent chance of development with these areas over the next 48 hours.
Also, a tropical wave in the Eastern Caribbean should also be watched. This area is composed of a broad swath of showers and thunderstorms with no real overall circulation. If any formation does occur, it will be a very slow process. The chance of tropical cyclone development in the Caribbean over the next 48 hours is also low at 10 percent.
Elsewhere, tropical development is not anticipated.
