Deltona standoff ends with shooting

Volusia County Sheriff's deputies were forced to shoot a man on Lake Helen-Osteen Road.

DELTONA --

A standoff in Deltona has ended in a shooting.

Volusia County Sheriff's deputies were forced to shoot Clayton Gonsalves at his home on Lake Helen-Osteen Road Wednesday.

Gonsalves had barricaded himself inside his home after shooting his wife in the arm.

A sheriff's office spokesman told News 13 Gonsalves fired shots into the air after shooting his wife.

The woman's injuries are not life threatening.

Gonsalves is being treated at a local hospital.
