A caregiver is arrested, accused of stealing from the 71-year-old man she was caring for and then trying to sell some of his property back to him.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office said the victim hired Cynthia Cardenas, 44, to help around the house, but fired her after a week, because she was doing a poor job.
The victim told investigators he then noticed some of his property was missing including about $950 worth of jewelry and a coffee maker.
Cardenas claimed the jewelry was a gift, telling investigators the man was infatuated with her.
Deputies arrested her after the victim claimed she offered him his cell phone back for $75.
Cardenas is charged with grand theft.
