Cocoa Police Officer charged with DUI

An off-duty Cocoa Police Officer is facing DUI charges following a mid-afternoon crash in Palm Bay.

Officials said Roney Daniel, 31, was arrested at the crash scene Friday, after failing a field sobriety test.

A witness told Palm Bay police they saw him pointing a gun at another vehicle, as he was driving down a street.

Daniel was taken to the hospital to get treatment for injuries he sustained in the crash. He will then be transported to the Brevard County Detention Center.
