Two bodies found at a Port Orange motel Monday morning are those a missing woman and her ex-boyfriend, police said.
Police had been searching for Loni “Amber” Turner, 22, who left home to go to work Sunday morning, but never arrived.
The other body was identified as Erin Ross, 27.
Port Orange and South Daytona investigators were on the scene at the Town and County Inn at 5384 Ridgewood Ave. in Port Orange where the bodies were discovered.
Authorities believe they found the car belonging to the missing woman in the parking lot.
Turner dated Erin Ross at the beginning of this year, but as their relationship continued, Ross became obsessive, and would follow her around, police said.
When Turner finally ended the relationship, police said Ross continued to stalk her, and sent her text and video messages saying if he couldn’t have her, he would kill her and then take his own life.
“The text messages that I saw were video messages of some inappropriate things that had nothing to do with her, which is just sick, twisted,” said Stephanie Falk, a friend of Turner’s. “I have no idea what is in his head, or what he’s thinking. He’s just desperate.”
"I knew that she was getting threatening text messages from him and stuff like that, but I never really thought that he would go through with it,” said Jessica Johnson, Turner’s friend. "You know she filed for and injunction, and they denied it, the courts did."
Turner had attempted to file a restraining order against Ross, but it was denied.
Both Turner and Ross were notified Friday of a hearing to see if a restraining order would be issued. That hearing was set for Sept. 3.
Now police want to know if Ross killed Turner, then turned the gun on himself.
"Initial results are leading to that right now," said Capt. Frank Surmacwewiwicz.
Police say there was a sign of a struggle, and that a gun was recovered inside the motel room.
