City leaders will hold a workshop to discuss hiring the Flagler County Sheriff's Department to replace the police department.
City Commissioner Elbert Tucker suggested the change during a budget workshop Monday night, The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported.
The 13-member department's proposed budget for the fiscal year starting Oct. 1 is $988,553, down from present budget of $1.1 million.
Palm Coast, Flagler County’s biggest city, is served by the Flagler County Sheriff's Department.
The Bunnell Police Department has had some recent problems. Lt. John Murray and his wife, Lisa, were both fired following their June arrests on official misconduct charges.
