A large manatee is set free in Brevard County after spending three months of rehabilitation at SeaWorld.
A crews from SeaWorld traveled to Kars Park in Merritt Island to release the 8 foot long and exactly 700 pound female manatee back into the water.
The animal was picked up in May in Satellite Beach.
Officials said she was having trouble floating in the water and couldn't submerge herself. They think she might have been struck by a boat and possibly swallowed a fishing line.
Biologists that originally rescued the mammal said watching this release is extremely rewarding.
"We you get to see these animals that you were able to help and get to on time, for them to have a second chance at life, it's the most gratifying thing you can think of, especially this year," said marine mammal biologist Christy Rush.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reported there have been 29 manatees rescued in Central Florida since Jan. 1. Statewide, they have rescued 88 manatees.
The cold weather experienced this winter has made rescue officials very busy this year.
In total, SeaWorld has rescued over 18,000 sick, injured, or orphaned animals.
