Allison Walker, Entertainment Reporter

It takes a special person to provide special coverage, and that’s exactly what Allison Walker does for Central Florida on Demand.

After sitting behind the weekend anchor desk at News 13, Allison is now taking on a new high-profile assignment as full-time reporter-field anchor for Central Florida’s only local entertainment channel, Central Florida On Demand, Channel 300, only on Bright House Networks.

As Central Florida on Demand’s entertainment specialist, Allison reports on news and events connected to the entertainment industry. She also covers everything from the business of entertainment to the entertainers, themselves. If it’s happening around Central Florida, count on Allison to cover the latest in entertainment and celebrity news, with special coverage only for Bright House Networks customers.

Viewers can also watch Allison Walker every Friday on News 13 during her weekly entertainment feature “On the Town” to check out some of the weekend’s biggest events.

Allison came to News 13 in  April 2007 as News 13’s  “Generation to Generation” and “Your Home” reporter, telling the stories that make you think about what you did today, and how you can do things just a little bit better tomorrow. She also contributed to weekly “Building Community” reports.

Allison’s broadcasting career gave her the opportunity to “connect the dots” across America.

Allison graduated from Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA with a B.S. in Science, Technology and Culture.

Her professional career began in the Southeast at CNN in Atlanta, first as a reporter for CNN Student News, and then as an associate producer at the Military Desk when the War in Iraq broke out.

She then moved out West to KLBC in Laughlin, NV where she not only co-anchored the 5 p.m. news, but was also the leading political reporter, drilling both the Nevada and Arizona legislators. Allison then moved to Elmira, NY to anchor and produce the weekend 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. broadcasts at WETM 18 News. Soon, she was promoted to anchor and producer of WETM 18 News at Noon. Allison also embraced her position as the station’s only health reporter, and contributed general assignment reports daily.

Allison grew up on New Hampshire’s seacoast with her parents and big brother (and lobsta’ to die for!). When she can force herself to turn off the news (or the Food Network and Travel Channel), Allison is either listening to Elvis, talking with family, absorbing Florida’s beautiful sunshine, exploring Central Florida’s eccentric restaurants and hangouts or spending time at her church.
