MIAMI -- Tropical Storm Edouard has maximum sustained winds of 60 miles per hour, with higher gusts, as it heads for the Texas coastline.
Edouard is expected make landfall Tuesday morning.

At 11 p.m. EDT, the Tropical Storm Warning is discontinued east of Grand Isle, La.
A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect from Grand Isle westward to Port O'Connor, Texas.
A Hurricane Watch remains in effect from west of Intracoastal City, La. to Port O'Connor.

At 11 p.m. EDT, the center of Tropical Storm Edouard was located near latitude 28.7 north, longitude 92.2 west or about 105 miles south of Lafayette, La. and about 160 miles east-southeast of Galveston, Texas.
Edouard is moving toward the west-northwest near 8 mph, and this general motion is expected to continue with some increase in forward speed during the next couple of days. On the forecast track, the center of Edouard is expected to be near or over the Upper Texas or southwestern Louisiana coasts by midday Tuesday.
Reports from coastal Doppler radars indicate that maximum sustained winds have increased to near 60 mph, with higher gusts. Edouard is forecast to strengthen, and it is expected to be near hurricane strength by the time it reaches the coastline during the day tomorrow.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 70 miles from the center. Several elevated oil rigs south of the Louisiana coast have been reporting sustained winds of 45 to 55 mph during the past few hours.
Estimated minimum central pressure is 999 mb or 29.50 inches.
A storm surge of 2 to 4 feet above normal tide levels can be expected in the warning area in areas of onshore winds.
Edouard is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 3 to 5 inches in some Louisiana coastal parishes. Accumulations of 4 to 6 inches, with isolated maximum amounts of 10 inches are possible over southeastern Texas.
Isolated tornadoes are possible over portions of southern Louisiana and the Upper Texas coast tonight and Tuesday.
An intermediate advisory will be issued by the National Hurricane Center at 2 a.m. EDT, followed by the next complete advisory at 5 a.m. EDT.
