Boaters in Lake County prepare for Fay

Video

LAKE COUNTY -- Boaters at Gator Bay Marina have been working all weekend to make sure their boats stay safe during the storm, even if it's something as simple as making sure boats are tied up.

Marina employees said they also help out by keeping an eye on things. They said if water levels get too high, they take extra precautions, like adding more coverage to boats to make sure they stay secure.

However, some aren't too worried about damage and said Fay might just be a flop.

"I think it'll ride things out pretty well. These are pretty sturdy and it's tied if something happens. I think it'll be alright," said Jack English, who was preparing his boat for the storm.

Lake County Emergency Management officials said they will pay close attention to Fay's activity.

They've already started preparing the county's Emergency Operations Center and will send out alerts to residents as they become available.
