What is the difference between "isolated" thunderstorms and "scattered" thunderstorms?
--Cindy, Sanford
Cindy, when referring to the coverage that showers and thunderstorms will have, "isolated" indicates that 10 to 20 percent of the area will experience activity, while 30 to 50 percent of the forecast zone should see precipitation when the term "scattered" is used. Anything higher than that is labled "numerous".
