I've told my friends up north that lightning in Florida is more dangerous. Am I right?

No state sees more lightning than Florida. Plus, electrical currents within lightning here are nearly twice that of storms found in the northeast. That's because cumulonimbus clouds that form in Florida are about 30 percent taller, allowing clouds to store more energy and generate more powerful lightning.
