What is the difference between isolated and scattered thunderstorms?

According to the National Weather Service, isolated thunderstorms means that 20 percent or less of the forecast area would see storms. If the percentage is from 30 to 50 percent, the term becomes "scattered". 60 percent or higher is referred to as "numerous."
