Tom Buehring
Tom Buehring took a tip from an acquaintance.
During a commercial break of an interview, former LSU basketball coach Dale Brown urged him to pursue work in broadcast TV sports.
Twenty years later, Tom’s on-air versatility has provided him opportunities in sports and news as an anchor, host and reporter in newsrooms that include Seattle, Nashville and Fayetteville, N.C.
Coverage of local teams reached its pinnacle with the MLB All-Star Game, AL Championship Series, NBA Finals, NFL Playoffs and an NCAA National Basketball Championship.
Tom is currently host of Xtra Point, a weekly show that goes in-depth covering football on Bright House Sports Network. He is also co-host of BaysBall.
He founded and developed Studio One, a credited training program and TV show seen throughout the Midwest -- a showcase project for the University of North Dakota and annual recipient of regional and national awards.
During seven weeks in the summer of 1984, Tom ran from Plymouth Rock to Los Angeles with thousands of others, doubling as director of the president-sanctioned event.
Tom and his wife, Mindy, have three children and live in Clearwater.
