David Baumann
David is the ultimate sports fan, and he gets paid to talk about sports. The Bright House Sports Network anchor-reporter says it doesn’t get better than that.
Covering sports is familiar territory for Baumann. He worked at Fox 25 in New England, when they used to telecast Boston Red Sox games, and the ABC affiliate in Springfield, Mo.
He has also worked for Central Florida News 13 in Orlando from 2004 until the transition to Bright House Sports Network in 2008.
A Rochester, N.Y., native, Baumann graduated from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in 2002, with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Economics, and is currently working on his MBA from the Crummer School at Rollins College in Orlando.
Ask him what he does when he’s not working, and he’ll tell you he’s either watching or playing sports, enjoying Florida’s beaches, jamming on his piano, training his basset hound, Dozer, or tinkering with his 1966 and 1969 Vespas.
His obsession with vintage Vespas and Land Rovers is, according to him, “unhealthy and awesome.”
