Rob Eicher

Rob Eicher

He loves predicting the future! That's one thing Central Florida News 13 meteorologist Rob Eicher enjoys about his job.

Eicher joined the News 13 weather staff in August 2004, just in time to encounter Hurricane Charley! He's no stranger to tropical weather, though. He worked on Maryland's Eastern Shore, another peninsula where hurricanes and even sea breezes can make the weather pretty turbulent.

Rob graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor's degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences, and a Master's degree in Meteorology. He has earned the National Weather Association Seal of Approval and the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation from the American Meteorological Society. Rob was the first meteorologist in Central Florida to be awarded that designation from the AMS. He has also worked for the CBS affiliate in Salisbury, Maryland and in radio in Delaware and Orlando.

Rob's talents extend far beyond broadcasting, however. In his spare time, Rob also teaches meteorology courses at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In fact, his passion is teaching people things they never knew about weather and science.

The great outdoors is where you'll find Rob when he's not working. He enjoys golfing, the beach, and cruising around in classic cars.
