Video games, graphically, look pretty good right now, so in an effort to push the level of realism available to gamers, developers are making accessories that improve on the life-like feel gamers desire.
Can playing video games really get more lifelike? Well, maybe the in-game graphics can't get much better at the moment, but the devices we use to play can help add some realism -- such as the new computer monitor developed at Alienware.
"It was determined that a 90-degree horizontal field of view was ideal for an immersive simulation experience. So that's what developed our curvature and the size of the display to give you a 90 degree field of view at roughly a 2-foot viewing distance," said J.B. Daines, of Alienware
Nintendo's Wii remote already added real-world movements to virtual games, but what about making some additions to the remote to make it feel more like the weapon or piece of sporting equipment you're pretending to wield?
"This little pack has attachments for the Wii remote you connect the little Wii remote to say the golf club, and instead of just using the remote by itself, you connect the golf club and it gives it a more interactive feel," said Frank Pelaez, of CTA Digital.
If you like to interact with fellow gamers online while playing, Logitech's DiNovo mini-keyboard for wireless lets you trash message instead of trash talking.
And if you want to be a air guitar hero, all you need is the magic pick and a magic belt buckle -- rocker hair is optional.
You will have to strum out the rhythm of the song to make it sound right and lose some inhibitions to make it look right.
