How much are candidates getting? How are they spending it? And who is donating it?

OpenSecrets.org has up-to-date information available for you right now about presidential and congressional candidates.

It is called OpenSecrets.org because the political candidate information is public record and secret because most people don't even know about it.

For example, according to OpenSecrets.org, at the end of the fourth quarter, Hillary Clinton raised over $115 million and spent just over $77 million.

Barack Obama had raised just over $102 million and spent almost $84 million.

On the Republican side, McCain had raised just over $41 million and spent around $38 million; while Mike Huckabee raised almost $9 million and spent $7 million.

You can also check out a link to contributions by state. California is No. 1, New York is No. 2 and Florida is No. 4.

One link that may surprise you is where candidates spend most of their money -- it is not TV ads, it is administrative costs -- almost 46 percent.

If you select the state, you will see how much money has come from contributors there. Another link lets you type in the name of a donor to see how much they gave, to which candidate, their occupation, and the date they gave the contribution. It is all public record.

You can also check out the congressional races with a lot of local candidates.
