Thanks to the Internet, you can now get the latest celebrity gossip almost instantaneously on sites like X-17 and TMZ.

Now you can access celebrity photos, video and even celebrity events as they happen, live.

A behind-the-scenes blogger at X-17 shared how they use technology to keep the public posted around the clock on every celebrity move.

"It's really 24 hours a day, 7 days a week now," said Brandy Navarre, vice president of X-17 Online.

With X-17, you can forget flipping through magazines to get the latest scoop. It is already old news compared to what you'll find online.

"If we get in really great video at 10 o'clock at night, I usually sit here and edit it and post it because we want to be the first, we want to show people that we can have a photographer on the street and literally, in an hour, see exactly what he shot on our Web site," Navarre said.

The response X-17 has gotten to videos like one it has of Britney Spears has spurred the celeb site to branch out.

"We're launching X-17Video.com, which will be our video-only Web site for people who just want to go in and watch lots of videos.  You'll be able to search by celebrity, by date, by keyword," Navarre said.

To stay ahead of the growing competition, the site is taking even greater steps to ensure that it is the first to post a breaking celebrity news story.

"We even started doing a few live shots from our photographers in the streets," Navarre said.

Navarre said the live shots could even be beneficial to the celebrities in terms of controlling the rumor mill.

"You can see with your own eyes exactly what's happening," Navarre said.

Has this around-the-clock access to a celebrity's every move made us more fixated than ever?

"It does create this kind of frenzy over people commenting on each other, debating, discussing what is going on with this celebrity and that celebrity and, really, I think it becomes an obsession for a lot of people.
