The Glove is not going anywhere.

One of the greatest players to ever play in arena football is Kenny McEntyre, also known as The Glove.

McEntyre hasn't lost a step. He still has two years on his deal. He had four touchdowns on interceptions last year.

He stopped by the Bright House Sports Network studios to talk with David Baumann about football and another, new passion.

Baumann: Lets talk about what you’ve been diving into in this offseason. You’re a personal trainer now?

McEntyre:  Yeah. Ahmad Carroll, who was with us last year who is with the Jets now, got me involved with it during the season.  During the off-season he talked me into finishing it before getting into camp. It took me three months to get the certification for personal training, as well as wellness.  It’s been going good.

Baumann: How do people get in touch with you to say, "Hey Kenny, help me out."

McEntyre:  They can email me at kmac28ho@yahoo.com or they can call me (407) 694-5745 and I’ll get them in the best shape of their life.

Baumann:  He’s putting his phone number right out there on the air, not bad.  Eleven years in the AFL, 81 career interceptions, the all-time leader.  Realistically, are you still the top cover corner in the league?

McEntyre:  One of them.  We have a lot of young talent in the AFL, but, week after week I don’t see many teams trying me, but once I see more of them coming at me, I’ll know.  I’m having a good time and I’m looking forward to the season to kick off and I’m enjoying what I’m doing right now.  Just getting a fresh start on life after football.

Baumann:  Ten of those 11 years with the Preds.  Do you expect Shane Stafford to be with the Preds by season’s start?

McEntyre:  I think we are going to go free agency.  We had a chance to sign Shane during the signing period.  Obviously, Jay decided not to do that, we’re going to go free agent and see who we can get out there.  But, you never say never.  Chances of Shane coming back are slim and he knows that.  Jay talked to him on the phone after the season and told him, but you never know in sports.

Baumann:  There’s a guy sitting around not doing a whole heckuva lot. I know you played poker with him the other night -- Daunte Culpepper.  What if that guy was wearing a Predators jersey?  Have you talked to him about that.

McEntyre:  We were playing putt-putt golf, not poker.  Yeah, putt-putt.  It would be awesome to have Daunte here.  Obviously if an NFL team would pursue Daunte he’d go after that, but, to have Daunte in Predators jersey would be awesome for him, this community, this town and it would be good.

He’d get a fresh start in the AFL.  I think he’d be a great quarterback.  He’s just three years removed from being one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.  To have him here would be awesome.
