The University of Central Florida star runningback Kevin Smith announced Tuesday that he will return to UCF for his senior year and his final year with the Knights.
Smith made the announcement Tuesday at a UCF press conference.
Smith's return next season will allow him to graduate college, but for many fans, it also means he will be able to rack up more yards in an effort to break the all time rushing record.
Smith rushed for 2,448 yeards and 30 touchdowns to lead the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision. He is about 1,800 yards away from breaking Ron Dayne's all-time rushing mark.
Smith is currently 181 yards away from breaking Barry Sanders record for single season rushing yards, which he could do in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl on Dec. 29.
Smith will undoubtedly be up again for the Heisman after finishing eighth in 2007.
