The Orlando Magic pulled off another victory, stomping on the Seattle Sonics 103-76.
It wasn't a pretty win by any means for the Orlando Magic with a lot of turnovers, but they will take it as they blow out the Seattle Supersonics.
It was the first 0-8 start for Seattle in franchise history. Speaking of Seattle, Rashard Lewis spent nine seasons there before coming to the City Beautiful. He had 22 points against his former team and 19 of those came in the first half.
"The main thing is we wanted to win the game. More than anything I didn't want to lose to the team I played for for the past nine years, especially last year, but we got the W and I think that was the most important part. My whole career I grew up with Luke Ridnour, Chris Wilcox, Damien Wilkins. A lot of guys we kind've grew together as a family and I still communicate with them, so it was a little different playing on the other side, playing against them," Lewis said.
"Rashard always finds shots and he's making them. He did a great job. I thought he was the one, well actually I thought two guys in our starting lineup were outstanding. I thought he and Bogans were both outstanding, so it was enough to get by, but Rashard and Bogs were both very, very good," said Stan Van Gundy, the Orlando Magic's coach.
The Magic will face the Sonics again on Nov. 28 in Seattle. Lewis got a little taste of what it's like for a free agent to go back and face his old team when Grant Hill came to town with the Phoenix Suns.
He was booed every time he touched the ball and Lewis will probably see and hear plenty of that in Seattle.
