KENNEDY SPACE CENTER -- Friday was the final day of practice for the crew of space shuttle Discovery, as they were expected to conduct a full dress rehearsal of the events leading up to launch.
NASA managers decided Thursday to tack on an extra day to what was a 13-day mission to do more work on the International Space Station. See previous story.
Engineers said so far, this mission has had the fewest pre-launch maintenance issues than any other shuttle mission in the program's 27-year history.
Engineers credited improvements to fixing recurring problems.
Discovery's launch is set for 5:02 p.m. Saturday, May 31. News 13 is your Space Station, and will have extended live coverage leading up to and including the launch.
