KENNEDY SPACE CENTER -- Space shuttle Discovery is one step closer to liftoff at the end of the month.
On Tuesday, NASA concluded the first of two flight readiness reviews for the orbiter to assess the preparations for Discovery's STS-124 mission to the International Space Station.
The space agency said it did have to replace a relay on the orbiter, but they aren't working any major problems that could delay the liftoff.
Discovery will be cleared for liftoff during an executive-level Flight Readiness Review, which is scheduled for Monday, May 19 at Kennedy Space Station. The actual day and time of launch will be determined at that time.
Discovery will be taking a more than 32,000-pound Kibo Japanese Experiment Module to the International Space Station.
Discovery is currently slated to launch Saturday, May 31 at 5:02 p.m. Of course when it happens, you'll see it live here on News 13.
