KENNEDY SPACE CENTER -- Preparations for the next space shuttle mission continued Tuesday, as a 17-ton Japanese research laboratory bound for the International Space Station was scheduled to be hauled out to the launch pad.
The second part of the Kibo module was set to blast off on Discovery on May 31.
The first part of the lab was brought into orbit during the last mission.
The shuttle was expected to join the new module at the pad during the weekend.
