On Nov. 14, 2008, the space shuttle rode a pillar of fire into the sky for its mission to add rooms to the International Space Station.
People crowded the parks, pulled over to the side of the road or just walked out their front doors to watch the spectacular sight.
Their eyes rivited to the sky, the crowds waited patiently to view Endeavour's rise into the sky toward the heaven.
The sight was made even more spectacular by the fact that it was one of only 31 night shuttle flights in history and it could be one of the last, if not the last night flights before the shuttle is retired.
But you didn't have to be on the Space Coast to take part in this special piece of history.
You just had to look to the sky and watch as the plume of light sailed by the full moon.
Many News 13 viewers took their cameras with them and captured the moment for posterity. Many of those were kind enough to send us some of their most beautiful images and we would like to share it with you in this slideshow.
