WASHINGTON -- Amtrak, as well as several airlines, are making more accomodations for the millions of travelers expected to head to Washington for the presidential inauguration of Barack Obama.
Amtrak said it is expanding service between Boston and Washington on Inauguration Day Jan. 20.
Some airlines planned to add dozens of extra flights and use larger aircraft.
Getting around D.C. by car is also expected to be tricky.
A city official said some major bridges into the city will be open only to buses and official inaugural traffic.
Obama Back In Washington
President-elect Obama arrived back in the nation's capital Sunday, this time to prepare to move into his new home.
The Air Force 757 that brought Obama to Washington is part of the official presidential fleet, marking the first time the president-elect has flow in one of the planes.
Michelle Obama flew to D.C. Saturday with their daughters to get them ready for their first day of school in Washington Monday morning.
The president-elect admitted to reporters he got a little "choked up" when he was alone, saying goodbye to his Chicago home.
The Obamas are staying at the famous Hay Adams Hotel, which looks directly down at the White House, while they wait for Inauguration Day.
The family's first choice was the Blair House, the official White House guest quarters, but President Bush said that was booked until Jan. 15.
No one has said for sure who was staying at the Blair House, but it is also booked for parties for the outgoing administration.
