TALLAHASSEE -- Despite Sen. Hillary Clinton contiuing to press that Florida's votes should count, even her campaigners have admitted that the Sunshine State could not save her bid for the presidency.
Clinton campaigners said squeezing all the votes out of Florida's Jan. 29 primary would still leave Clinton trailing Sen. Barack Obama.
The situation would be more grim for the former first lady if Florida's delegates were split between the two candidates.
The Democratic National Party was slated to reconsider counting the delegates from Florida and Michigan on May 31.
Obama Gets Super Support
Obama gained some steam Friday in the movement of Democratic superdelegates, with the addition of three endorsements.
The president of the American Federation of Government Employees said the influential union was endorsing Obama for president.
In addition, two congressmen -- Rep. Peter DeFazio, from Oregon, and Rep. Don Payne, from New Jersey -- pledged their support for the Illinois senator.
Payne's endorsement, in particular, was key, as his support was a switch from his original backing of rival Hillary Clinton.
