WASHINGTON -- With just six Democratic primaries left, and pressure on Hillary Clinton to step aside, the question of what many democrats have called a "dream ticket," with her as Barack Obama's vice presidential running mate, has resurfaced, raised in part by Clinton friend-turned ABC commentator George Stephanapoulus.

"Would Sen. Clinton take it? If offered in the right way, yes," Stephanopoulus said.

Sen. Obama, appearing on CNN, seemed to deflect the possibility.

"It would be presumptuous of me at this point -- when she is still actively running, when she's highly favored to win two of the next three contests -- for me to somehow suggest that she should be my running mate," Obama said.

Clinton, however, reminded all those listening the power she would bring to a ticket while campaigning in West Virginia Thursday.

"I'm winning Catholic vo tes, I'm winning Hispanic voters and blue-collar voters, the kind of people Sen. McCain will be fighting for in the general election," Clinton said.

Still, after all the bitterness of the past few months, does such a ticket really make sense? While some pundits said it could unite the party, others said the so-called dream could become a nightmare.

"If he puts Clinton on the ticket, the message will be mixed, and in fact, Clinton will contradict his message of newness, freshness and change," said political analyst Larry Sabato, with the University of Virginia Center for Politics.

Some voters were split as well. Reactions of voters in New York ranged from "With her, absolutely, it would be a landslide," to "It would be a terrible ticket."
