John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama

Additional Information

New poll numbers are out and Florida appears to be changing from a red state to more of a purplish color.

The latest Quinnipiac University poll pits both Democratic candidates against John McCain.

In the theoretical battle, Clinton would top McCain 49  to 41 percent.

But when you pit McCain against Obama, it is a statistical tie. McCain gets 44 percent to Obama's 43 percent.

In two other swing states -- Pennsylvania and Ohio -- Clinton fares better than Obama against McCain ...

But the chances Clinton will win the nomination are slim. Obama now leads in the delegate count overall 1,735 to 1,597 for Clinton.

About 290 superdelegates remain undecided. A candidate needs 2,025 delegates to win the nomination.  Read the complete poll results.
