On Wednesday night, Casey's attorney appeared on national television and he faced some tough questions from CNN's Nancy Grace about why his client hasn't been more forthcoming with information.
Nancy Grace: Why didn't your client report her missing immediately?
Jose Baez: Well her reasons and explanations for those are confidential and I can’t reveal them at this time.
NG: You know that doesn't make any sense?
JB: Well you know I'm sorry it doesn't make any sense to you, but you don't know what our defense may be.
NG: Your defense to what?
JB: Any charges that may arise where she is prosecuted I have to protect my client and it’s something I must do and took an oath to do.
NG: You're hiding behind the attorney-client privilege.
JB: I'm not hiding behind anything
NG: You are.
At one point Grace said she had sheriff's deputies on the phone to try and arrange a meeting with Baez, but they were never put on the line.
