MIAMI -- A jury in South Florida said a special needs teacher who put hot sauce in an autistic student’s soda is guilty of abuse.
Sylvia Tagle faces up to five years in jail when she is sentenced in October.
Prosecutors said Tagle gave the spiked soda to the student to teach him a lesson, because he grabbed the drink from her desk.
Tagle’s lawyer called her a strict but dedicated teacher who maintains her innocence.
